Development, production and wide use of community educational materials and briefing papers for advocacy on UNDRIP, IPs in Thailand and their Constitutional rights,
Each of the MMVIC will conduct their own community level seminars and consultations once in a year starting year 2. The seminar and consultations (10 per year) will be for the purpose of awareness raising, sharing information and community planning. While the community programmes are primarily for awareness raising and information sharing, it is also aimed at strengthening the self-organizing capacity and planning of the communities. For this purpose, during the community seminars and consultations, as many trained indigenous activists/COs as possible will be encouraged to take the lead in organizing the community meetings as well as in facilitating the programme. It is also expected that community forums will be formed where appropriate and if desired by the concerned community members
An internal advocacy and networking strategy workshop (1 workshop) will be held among the MMVIC after the initial phase of the campaign and awareness, advocacy and leadership training, and the preliminary phase of the research and documentation have been completed (first half of year 2). The aim of this workshop will be firstly to identify and concretise their common key issues and concerns for advocacy and to have a clear understanding of how their self-organising capacity and networking processes can be strengthened. Secondly, the workshop will also identify and understand the important platforms and processes they would be engaging with, particularly on how they can be effective in the NCIP processes.
National level consultation and strategy workshop with the NCIP will be conducted, after the internal advocacy and networking strategy workshop in year 2, for advancing the rights of the MMVIC. The aim of the national strategy workshop will be to have a strong emphasize on the issues and concerns of the MMVIC in the agenda and processes of the NCIP. And also to have a clearly defined role of the MMVIC representatives in the advocacy action plan of the NCIP. In year 3, another national level consultation and strategy workshop will be organised where progress is assessed and detailed planning for the next phase is made.
Targeted advocacy will commence once the advocacy strategy is developed in the early part of year 2 along with NCIP (where possible and as appropriate) both for local and national level.
